if our roots are cut off, we shall shrivel up and die",

ZORRO IS ZOROASTER
Zoroastrians in Iran are the oldest religious community of the nation, with a long history continuing up to the present day. Prior to the
Islamization in Iran,
Zoroastrianism was the primary religion of the
Iranian people. Since the
Sassanid Zoroastrian empire was
conquered by Arabs in the 7th century CE, Zoroastrians in Iran have faced much religious discrimination, including forced conversions and harassment although technically, Zoroastrians are protected as '
people of the book' in Islam.
The Mongol invasion of Iran resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and ruined many cities. The early Mongol invaders were, however,
pagans or
buddhists so most of their attention was directed towards Muslims, whom they hated. However, Within half a century of the conquest, the leader of the
Il-Khanate,
Ghazan Khan, became a Muslim, which did not help the status of Zoroastrians in Iran. However, by the time that the Mongols were expelled,
Pars province had escaped major damages and the Zoroastrians moved to the North of Pars mainly in the regions of
Yazd and
Kerman,
[5] where even today the main Zoroastrian communities are found.
Zoroastrian Follower of the religious doctrines originally spread in Persia by Zarathustra - also known as Zoroaster - in the 6th century BC. Zoroatrians believe that the world is the site of a cosmic battle that is continually raging between good and evil, with man free to choose between the two. Eventually the good god and creator Ahura Mazda, the Wise Lord, will defeat the power of evil personified of Ahriman. The Zoroastrian scriptures, the Avesta, contain the Ahura Vairya, their most sacred prayer, and relate the creation history of the world as a drama divided into four periods of 3000 years each.
Zoroastrianism was the state religion in Persia under the Sassanian dynasty (3rd-7th century AD), but an Islamic invasion in 642 resulted in the persecution and emigration of believers. Isolated groups survived there, but the focus of emigration was Gujerat, India where the new cult flourished due to Hindu toleration. There Zoroastrians became known as Parsees (from the Persian parsi, ‘Persian’). Characteristic religious practices include the preservation of the sacred fire, and disposal of the dead by exposure on ‘towers of silence’.
Majority of Zoroastrians also left for India though about 20% remained; most of which had to migrate in the late 19th century as Qajar dynasty imposed greater restrictions on them.
Zoroastrianism was founded by the Prophet
Zoroaster (or Zarathustra) in ancient Iran. However, it is debated to exactly when he lived, as estimates range from 1700 BCE
[31] to 500 BCE.
[32] The precise date of the founding of Zoroastrianism is uncertain. An approximate date of 1500–1200 BCE has been established through archaeological evidence and linguistic comparisons with the
Hindu text, the
Rig Veda. However there is no way of knowing exactly when Zoroaster lived, as he lived in what, to his people, were prehistoric times.
[33] One ayah in the Qur'an can even be interpreted to encourage a
neutral position toward non-Muslims. This ayah says,
"Those who follow the Jewish and the Sabi'een, Christians, Magians and Polytheists — Allah will judge them On the Day of Judgement:" (22:17). The acceptance of Zoroastrians as dhimmis is partly because of this ayah, as the
Magians were
Zurvanist Zoroastrians, and this verse, specifically mentions them alongside other People of the Book, and lists them ahead of polytheists.
Zoroaster was born in either Northeast Iran or Southwest Afghanistan. He was born into a
Bronze Age culture with a
polytheistic religion, which included
animal sacrifice[34] and the ritual use of intoxicants. This religion was quite similar to the early forms of
Hinduism in India. The name
Zoroaster is a Greek rendering of the name
Zarathustra. He is known as
Zarathusti in
Persian and
Zaratosht in
Gujarati. Zoroaster's birth and early life are little documented. What is known is recorded in the
Gathas—the core of the Avesta, which contains hymns thought to be composed by Zoroaster himself. Born into the
Spitama clan, he worked as a priest. He had a wife, three sons, and three daughters. Zoroaster rejected the religion of the Bronze Age Iranians, with their many gods and oppressive
class structure, in which the
Karvis and
Karapans (princes and priests) controlled the ordinary people. He also opposed animal sacrifices and the use of the
hallucinogenic Haoma plant (possibly a species of
ephedra) in rituals.
Almost nothing is known of the status of Zoroastrianism under the
Seleucids and
Parthians, who ruled over Persia following
Alexander the Great's invasion in 330 BCE. According to later Zoroastrian legend (
Denkard and the
Book of Arda Viraf), many sacred texts were lost when Alexander's troops invaded
Persepolis and subsequently destroyed the royal library there.
Diodorus Siculus's Bibliotheca historica, which was completed
c. 60 BCE, appears to substantiate this Zoroastrian legend (Diod. 17.72.2–17.72.6). According to one archaeological examination, the ruins of the palace of
Xerxes bear traces of having been burned (Stolze, 1882). Whether a vast collection of (semi-)religious texts "written on parchment in gold ink", as suggested by the
Denkard, actually existed remains a matter of speculation, but is unlikely. Given that many of the
Denkards statements-as-fact have since been refuted among scholars, the tale of the library is widely accepted to be fictional (Kellens, 2002).

Kenapa dipanggil Kelompok As'Syirian? iaitu pengikut 'Tuhan Bintang As Syira'
